“This is the problem,” Mr. Shrager says with a sigh. “It would be impossible to fix it.” He also says that he cannot find a workable glue-based solution.
While the glue may get the job done, it may also be unsafe because the glue has been linked to the spread of hepatitis, tuberculosis or other contagious diseases like meningitis that often occur in older people or those with compromised immune systems.
As I have mentioned before I have been trying to learn to code in the OCaml programming language. At the risk of making myself sound like a clueless old man I would like to assure the reader of my experience and advice before I dive further into this topic.
First of all if you haven’t decided to write a program to take measurements of the temperature difference between the inside and outside of a computer why not try it?
My first project was for a very small computer so I didn’t want to spend too much on hardware. In my experience computers are a very small part of the software package. If a person is new to programming he or she may spend 10-30 mins of time trying to figure out how to write a program. If someone has used before programming experience is not necessary. Of course one could go through a complete tutorial but that’s a big time waste of time. In my case after working with the program for a couple of weeks I decided to compile it for my own use.
First thing I did was to have a look at the source code; it was mainly just to verify if it had any errors.
I wanted to compile the program so I would do a test run once I got everything working and if there were any serious bugs that would need fixing. I wanted to compile it with my own build system so I could also have a test of the compiled code after it had been run as it would be a good idea to see if the compiling code worked well on my hardware in case of an error. One can choose which build system to use but if one compiles with any other build system it would be necessary to write some additional code to get the compiled code to compile properly.
Now I had the program ready to be tested by me and the end user, I started writing the test suite to verify that the compiling code would work. The test suite is a suite of tests that you use to verify the compiler and the resulting compiled files will be run using an environment where the commands are passed to the program.
